Say when we are unsure
A measurement without an error estimate is a guess wearing a lab coat. Footage quality varies enormously, and a tool that reports every angle with the same certainty whether the clip was shot up close at a high frame rate or from the far side of the track is misleading its user. Stride attaches a confidence level to every result and only turns the ones it trusts into advice.
One decision beats eleven numbers
The failure mode of sports analytics is a dashboard nobody acts on. We would rather return a single focus an athlete can hold in their head on the next rep than a page of metrics that gets screenshotted and forgotten. The numbers stay available; they are just not the product.
Context before precision
The same trunk angle is correct in one phase of a race and wrong in another. Reporting an average across a whole run produces a number that is precise and meaningless. We would rather give a rougher number tied to the moment it was taken in.
Meet athletes where they train
Laboratory biomechanics has existed for decades and remains out of reach for almost everyone who runs. The constraint was never the science, it was the marker set, the technician and the appointment. Working from an ordinary phone video shot at whatever angle you happened to be standing is the entire point.
Where we are
Stride is in private beta, built with athletes and coaches rather than for them. If you coach a squad or train seriously and want to put the product under real pressure, the access form below reaches us directly.
